CiteRight aids lawyers with real-time compilation of fast-breaking changes to court requirements
We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve launched the first ever continuously updated website with practice directives for all Canadian courts, as the courts manage operations and Covid-19 at the same time. The website is available at https://www.citeright.net/covid-19-resources.
Courts have made unprecedented changes to their usual operations in response to Covid-19, including postponing non-urgent matters, requiring parties to submit materials remotely, and even foregoing requirements to wear gowns during hearings.
These practices can vary dramatically by jurisdiction and province. Until now, there has not been a central place to consult these practices, which is especially difficult for firms practicing in multiple jurisdictions.
CiteRight has adapted our own technology to compile and constantly update these changes in near real-time.
We know how hard—and time consuming—it is to find accurate information on the changing rules of the courts during coronavirus closures. This information is essential for lawyers across the country, yet near impossible to find.
We knew this was a service we could provide so that lawyers could have a one-stop collection of practice directives, helping them work more efficiently and accurately during this time.
Important features of CiteRight’s Covid-19 Resource Page:
- Contains practice rules for every court across every jurisdiction in Canada, including territorial courts, Federal courts, and tribunals.
- Organized by province and jurisdiction, to make it easy to find what you need.
- Updates are announced on CiteRight’s Twitter and LinkedIn accounts. You can also sign up for email updates as they come.
Check it out today and feel confident knowing you’re meeting the requirements of the courts during this time!
